How RASASC met growing demand for their services with GiveMatch

RASASC's mission
RASASC Guildford support survivors of all genders over the age of 13 from across Surrey who have been raped, sexually abused, or had an unwanted sexual encounter. Their highly trained team offers free, specialist services, including one-to-one and group counselling, support from Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs), self-help resources, and an outreach education programme for secondary schools. All of their services are free, confidential and non-judgemental. RASASC believes, empowers, and supports survivors on their path to recovery.
“In partnering with GiveMatch, we have learnt a lot - not least, that people’s generosity is astounding! But also it’s very clear that there is an appetite for people to give in this easy and straightforward way, enabling them to show their support for RASASC.”

The challenge
Over the past four years, demand for RASASC’s counselling services has surged by over 160%, with a 30% increase in requests for ISVA support. At the same time, like many charities, RASASC is facing funding cuts and rising overhead and staffing costs.
To meet this growing need, RASASC is working to find new ways to encourage people to support them, strengthening its individual giving programme to raise both vital funds and awareness of its essential work.
Our solution
For their first fundraiser on GiveMatch, RASASC launched a Christmas Appeal, leveraging the Triple the Impact initiative during this key giving period.
Working closely with their Customer Success Manager, RASASC created a compelling fundraiser page that highlighted the stark reality that sexual violence doesn’t stop for Christmas. To drive donations, RASASC promoted the appeal on Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook. They also distributed posters and leaflets with QR codes in their offices, and shared the campaign within their personal networks.
“I’m so pleased that our first ever fundraising campaign with GiveMatch was so successful, raising over £3,000 for our work. Often words can feel inadequate, but I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of you who donated to our Christmas Appeal. In doing so you have made a difference to the lives of many. We’ll certainly be back with more campaigns, so watch this space!”

The results
Thanks to their community's generosity in donating and sharing to triple their impact — along with unlocking extra match funding in GiveMatch’s December Leaderboard promotion — RASASC raised an impressive £3,229.15 in their first fundraising campaign on GiveMatch. Next up is the group of amazing supporters running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise funds for RASASC in April 2025.
